Ilocandia Adventure

It was April 2010,when we availed of a promo fare from Philippine Airlines ( oh yes, they also have Promo fares ). We booked a Roundtrip ticket from Bacolod - Manila - Laoag - Manila - Bacolod. And since it was a PAL flight you may be able to take advantage of their PALAKBAYAN promo.

Its sort of a packaged tour for selected tourist destinations here in the Philipinnes and even the other Asian Destinations. The only catch is that you have to buy this in conjunction with a PAL flight ticket.

So we did book a 3 days and 2 nights tour of Ilocos  for October - My Birthday Month! and guess where we will be staying???? Clue? Its the only 5 star accomodation in the north.

Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino
Supposedly it will just be a 3 days and 2 nights stay in Fort Ilocandia , but because of a sudden twist of incidents ( Thank You Lord) may 1 night free accomodation kami courtesy of Philippine Airlines. Why ? It just so happened that they cancelled our original return flight to Manila so they have no choice but to give us another night stay in Laoag.

Arriving at the LAOAG International Airport, you will see the laid back atmosphere through its brick stone walled airport.  International flights from Korea also flies here and to some parts of China as well.

At the airport we were greeted by the Staff of Fort Ilocandia and was told that the service is already waiting for us. By the way, were are a group of six.

Arrival at the Hotel

Fort Ilocandia is a 15 minute ride from the airport. I enjoyed the sightseeing going to the hotel though. When we arrived at the resort, we were given welcome drinks and instructions upon check inn.

Upon check inn, we were given our room assignments. We stayed in two separate rooms. Hanna , Miss Donna and Iya stayed togeter while Toto and Jamz were my room mates. We rested for awhile before going out for lunch. This is a free day for we dont have any scheduled tour so we opted have some time for ourselves.

Our room =)

All rooms are equipped with air-conditions, cable TV, hot & cold shower & bath tubs, individual balconies, safety vault & coffee/ tea sachets with hot/cold pots

Fort Ilocandia Resort & Casino is composed of five buildings all inspired by Spanish colonial architecture and finished in cool red bricks. Its rooms have private balconies offering views of the sea and possessing the features and qualities of Ilocano century-old living quarters that are constructed to accentuate the antiquity of a colonial house.

It has a lot of amenities in store for all of its guest. Here's a few:

  • A Mini Zoo
  • An Olympic Size Swimming Pool
  • A Kiddie Pool
  • All Terrain Vehicle Rental ( ATV)
  • Tennis Court
  • Basketball Court
  • Archery
  • Shooting Range
  • an 18 hole Golf Course
  • A casino
and many more....

Every morning we look forward to complimentary breakfast buffet. Everything you wanted to eat is almost there. We see to it that we are full enough for the long day ahead.

I really enjoyed our stay here in Fort Ilocandia. I loved the atmosphere. I loved the people and the food. Everything else here is grand and their are just a lot of activities you can do to fill in you day. Not to mention the Casino where our day usually ends ( haha) . The 4 days and 3 nights may not be enough to explore the whole resort but nevertheless I did enjoy the stay.

If given the chance, I would definitely wanna come back.
